The chairman of the National Security Committee of the House of Representatives of the US, Peter King, has demanded explanations on the alleged collaboration of the White House with Hollywood producers on a film about the military mission that killed Osama bin Laden last year.
The conservative group ‘Judicial Watch’ he said the Obama administration gave permission for two Hollywood filmmakers could interview officials involved in the secret mission that killed al Qaeda leader in May 2011 in Abbotabad (Pakistan), which was refugee.
‘Judicial Watch’ hung on its website documents claiming they are the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), including e – mails obtained by a court order , which provides details of the film in themaking.
Request of the directors.
King felt that this access company Sony Pictures, if confirmed, is a “very serious matter” , considering that the then Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, had assured that the Pentagon would not disclose details of the secret operation.
“Filmmakers Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal possibly anticipated tohave a successful history in an election year, over one of the most secretive operations in American history, but through these emails, what they have done is to tell a compelling story on an extremely close collaboration , unprecedented and potentially dangerous with senior officials “in government, he criticized King.
He added that after reviewing these emails was “concerned further possible disclosure of classified information to these filmmakers, who, as far as I know, no security passes.”
According to the Republican lawmaker, these electronic messages indicate that the filmmakers made an unprecedented visit to an installation so secret that even his name was crossed out the email, besides visiting the vaults of the CIA.
If the installation is so secret, “then why would the Obama Administration that these filmmakers visit her ?” King wondered.
The legislator has sent letters to the deputy director of the CIA, Michael Morell, and Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Michael G. Vickers, which requires detailed explanations on access filmmakers to those involved in the mission.
The location and execution of Bin Laden by agents of the Navy SEAL Team USA has been considered as one of the greatest political achievements of President Obama during his first term.
‘Judicial Watch’ began the investigation after seeing media reports about the possibility that the Obama administration had leaked secret information for the making of the film.
Last year, Maureen Dowd, columnist of the newspaper The New York Times wrote that the film ‘s release was scheduled for October 12, days before the presidential elections of November 6 to which Obama presents reelection.
Kathryn Bigelow received in 2010 for his film ‘The Hurt Locker’ Oscar six of the nine aspiring to the 82nd Academy Awards in Hollywood. Read more details about email append services.
